Beauty - Rarity - Functionality
… the three truly encapsulating qualities of Porcelain as aspired to by Johan Böttger, the young alchemist who developed the formula for making china using local materials.
Historically rooted and flourishing today Lowestoft Porcelain started production of fine bone china in Georgian times with the discovery of suitable clay near the town of Lowestoft.
By 1760 the factory was in full production with china being sold initially in Ipswich, Norwich and Cambridge and subsequently in the City of London.
Many of the designs and shapes now used to produce the highest quality porcelain not only reflect the success of the past, but also please the hearts and minds of today’s owners.
